　紀元前８世紀、ユダの国王ウジヤの統治の時代、イスラエルの国は繁栄と平和の上昇気流に乗っていた。しかし、この豊かさは、同時に急激にモラルを低下させ、国を弱体化させて行った。イスラエルはその視界を国の不正という汚い煙にさえぎられ、神から授かったその方向性を失ってしまったのだ。

　この難しい状況に神はアモスという人物を呼び出す。彼は羊飼いでイチジクの木々の世話人だったが、神の意志を国に告げるために神に呼び出されたのだ。アモスの使命は社会的宗教的な腐敗を訴え、差し迫った神の裁きを警告することだった。アモスという名前もヘブライ語の「重荷を負う」3という動詞に由来している。モーゼに対し、神は彼の真理と基準を示すために「杖」を例えに使ったが、アモスには「下げ振り‐Plumbline」というものを使った。

神の測定基準

最も単純な形の「下げ振り-Plumbline」は鉛で出来た、円錐を逆さにした形の重りで、それが同じ直径の木の棒に長いひもで結ばれている。建設業者によって使われ、壁を建設する際に、それが正確に垂直になっていることを確かめるのに用いられる。鉛の重りの部分が、目に見えない「重力」と呼ばれる力に反応し、地球の中心を常に指す。（図１参照）建設業者は、この単純だが奥の深い器具に想像以上の価値を見出している。彼らの建てる建物が安定したまま、建ち続けるためにはそのボルトや壁が下げ振り‐プラムラインに平行でなければならないということを知っている。でなければ、建物は倒れる可能性がある。

豊かになったイスラエルの地盤下には道徳の腐敗が起こっていた。神はこの国を基準からはずれ、崩れようとする壁として表現する。不安定な状態の程度を示すため、神は彼の民であるイスラエル国民の横にプラムラインである神の律法を下げるのだ。壁のブロックがバラバラになるように、いつイスラエルが陥落し、敵に散り散りにされてもおかしくないことを神は示す。神はいつの時代にも自分が選び出した人々の生き方に対し、彼の御言葉に現れる基準をプラムラインとして照らし合わせ続けてきた。現代に生きる人々に対しても、神はそれを行っている。我々が真理を知り、安定した、安全な生き方への道しるべを見つけられるようにするためだ。

Morning Prayer Front Cover

もうひとつスタートさせようとしているプロジェクトはアメリカのキム・ウイルソンさんとの絵本の作成です。彼女は私の絵をとても気に入ってくださり、彼女の子供に神様を教えるための絵本を共同でしませんかと言ってくれました。

私は小さい頃から、神様に愛されている、使命をいただいている、神様が味方で助けてくださる、私たちを非常に大切に思ってくださっているということ、そしてそれを感謝し、神様に伝えることを教え育てる重要さについて彼女と共感できる部分がたくさんありました。

キムさんはすでに、数個のお話を書きあげていますが、私はそのうちのひとつである、「あさのおいのり」をまず作成しています。朝起きた時に、何を神様にお祈りするか、何を感謝すればよいか教えてくれる、とてもかわいい絵本です。よい出版社を探せるように祈っています。

キムさんはまた、この本の販売を通して里親の方々をサポートしたいと願っています。神様が皆さんの、そして我々のニーズを賄ってくださることを信じて描き続けています。

Finishing Up The Translation of Walls of My Heart

It has been God’s purpose and my goal to get out the “Walls of My Heart ” (Crown Ministries) in Japanese.

I was saved from eternal gloom and perpetual depression by the counseling method laid out in the book.

If I had not met the Plumbline Counselor, Mrs. Mary Taylor in New Zealand, I probably would not have survived another bout of swallowing pills. I probably would never have realized how real God is, how much he can intervene in people’s lives and how much he can love enough to want someone healed.

The book has all the elements of the counseling method used in the sessions so that you can read it on your own. I still marvel at how much healing I still receive from reading it over again.

It was a tough three years of translating, revising, editing, graphic editing, but every minute was worth it. I had never been able to finish a job since the age of 19, when I started having my depression. God has given my life purpose, and has allowed me to finish this for the Japanese people who are hurting out there.

May this book reach and touch many hurting people in Japan.

Colouring in Trust In Me

This is my first exposure to the world as an artist and writer.

My main concern is people’s hearts. I would like people to experience the love of God through what I draw and write.

I want the experience of that to be as real to them as possible. If not, it is only a belief without any substance, without any fruit or any joy.

I want convey the Father God and Jesus I know the best I can and know as possible. I know I am not perfect, but He is real and he cares.

He wants to reach your heart too.
